  • Born on September 16, 1958, in Sanski Most, Bosnia and Herzegovina.Graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Banja Luka in 1981 and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Economics in 1988.Completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Mannheim and the University of Glasgow.Began teaching at the University of Banja Luka’s Faculty of Economics in 1985 and later taught at the universities of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo.

  • Member of the Presidency of the Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1988 to 1991.
  • Prime Minister of Republika Srpska from 2001 to 2003.
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2003 to 2007.
