Background

BEP2 NEW-09E is a cross-chain asset of $AB(prev. $NEW) launched by AB (prev. Newton) on BNB Beacon Chain (prev. Binance Chain) in 2019 for trading on Binance Dex.

With the technological upgrades, BNB Beacon Chain announced its shutdown plan in 2024 and stopped producing blocks in December 2024. AB (prev. Newton) also notified NEW-09E holders through the official website and other channels to cross it back to the AB (prev. Newton) mainnet as soon as possible. However, there are still about 65 million NEW-09E that have not completed the cross-chain.

Solution

In order to protect user assets, after technical communication with the BNB Chain team, a solution was found when the BNB Beacon Chain has been shut down. It is currently being implemented and is expected to be launched in about 1-2 weeks. At that time, NEW-09E users can cross the chain back to the AB (prev. Newton) main network at one time.
